The London Alternative Market held the first Sunday of every month is certainly an event not to be missed.  Like most new discoveries on the London fetish scene, I discovered the LAM with Joanna Lark.  That morning we were feeling high, ready to dress to impress, so as soon as we got up and had a pampering bath we put on our PVC catsuits and matching Dominatrix hats.  As usual, we caused a stir when we arrived wearing our shiny, PVC catsuits hugging our curves and feeling like lubed rubber. 

The market was spread over two floors of uncensored naughtiness and kink. Joanna knew almost everyone in there, from stall owners to customers.  She was glowing in her kingdom admired by everyone in sight.

One of the first stalls catching my attention was that of the beautiful Zahira and her amazing handcrafted leather corsets and accessories. The leather corset that caught my attention among the leather armours and all the glamorous designs was one from Zahira’s “Leather Tatoo Collection” (available from 280 Euros).  The corset in tan leather bearing a tattoo-like design was like a second skin.  The strong hold gave me an amazing shape and the tattoo design looked like it was part of my catsuit.   Needless to say that I was enamoured with Zahira’s creations so I promised to follow up attending one of her workshops in her London studio to see how she crafts such pieces of art.

I was just coming out of my daydreams with Zahira’s glamorous creations when a pony girl caught my attention.  She was the prettiest pony girl I had ever seen; everything in her was elegant and perfect.  Next to her was her Master – a big imposing gentleman.  He was choosing a flogger from Jack’s Floggers.  I was immediately attracted to this couple so I started to talk to them.  Much to my surprise, the imposing Master was every inch of a gentleman and he kindly instructed me on the qualities of Jack’s floggers which are handcrafted in a wide variety of exotic materials, like he says, “distinctly designed for the discerning deviant at an affordable price”.  I was lucky enough to get an introduction to Jack’s floggers and to have a try of some of his creations with the pony girl.

Latex 101 

Once I got to the latex stall I just couldn’t stop myself from using my plastic to buy a few items.  Joanna introduced me to the owners; very gentle people who advised me on how to wear latex, how to care for my latex clothing and how to choose the best outfit.  I bought everything without trying it on.  They promised that if would fit… and it did fit like a glove.

Just before we had our lunch break, Joanna introduced me to Nick and Morphia Wands.  I have never been attracted to electric play so I admit that I was not impressed with their old boxes spread on the table and I was planning an escape strategy when they showed me a buzzing violet wand and teased me to try it.  Not without concern I gave them my hand to try -I am not into pain- so this was not really my thing.  But how wrong could I be, instead of pain what I felt was a mild prickly sensation that got me asking for more.  I was enjoying something I thought I would never try!  After my first experience I tried more of their devices and got instructed into the rarity and collector’s value of Violet Wand sets.

After our visit at Liberation, Joanna took me to Floozie Me at Islington Green. From the outside Floozie Me looks like a boudoir with its feathery displays and delightful lingerie. As soon as we entered we were welcomed by Gary, the handsome owner of this atmospheric little sex boutique spread over two floors. The ground floor has an exquisite display of sexy boots, latex, PVC and leather corsets; sophisticated lingerie and elegant sex toys.  The basement is what I would call the “dungeon” with all the BDSM accessories and equipment.

 To help me to get into the right mood, Joanna gave me a pair of leather gloves; my first fingerless leather gloves! I loved the place and the freedom to try on whatever I felt like. After I marvelled at the sexy boots and corsets , I spotted a leather miur cap at the window display. I immediately tried it on and went to check myself in the mirror. That was it! I’ve discovered my new look… Carried away, I picked up a sexy leather corset and here Joanna had to help me to lace it up. Wow – I was impressed. I don’t know for how long I was looking for a corset with strong yet flexible steel boning. Couldn’t stop starring at my curves at the mirror.

We both laughed as we walked down to the dungeon.  I was thrilled with my first discovery there – the shiny PVC catsuits, so spectacular I wanted to try them all. Later Joanna helped me to try on some posture collars. I thought I was going to choke with the first one I tried; a big thick leather posture collar which, although loose on my neck, still felt too restrictive. So I tried on another one, a smaller and softer collar, but it still felt too restrictive for me. I also tried on a heavy leather mask which thankfully Joanna didn’t bother fastening.  I liked the looks and the scent coming off the leather mask but I did not like at all the feeling of wearing such a restrictive accessory.  I knew then for certain that I was not made to be a submissive. My place was at the other side of these masks and collars.  I think Joanna knew that too and asked me to try a on a sensual leather choker instead, something more appropriate for a Domme than for a sub.

Another thing there new for me was the combination of heavy duty suspension bondage equipment: suspension cuffs, gloves, jackets, belts. I was delighted touching the soft leather discovering that at the same time the strong metal construction can hold good size men in restrictive yet safe position.

As you probably know, there’s been a long history of fetish/bdsm world crossing to the “vanilla” world – we’ve seen Madonna trying to put us in a trance as a Dominatrix whilst wearing latex costumes and uniforms (Erotica), Rachel Weisz in super shiny PVC catsuit (or was it latex? – not sure now); of course Dita Von Teese, Lady Ga-ga to name just a few.

First – it was Vogue. They asked for couple of our corsets for a Lady Gaga photo session and I happily delivered – considering what would best suit whilst watching her and thinking how it would fit….
So far Vogue magazine chosen our stuff 3 times, and if it’s not a big endorsement of the quality and style of our products then I don’t know what is

And listen to this – straight after that Agent Provocateur gave me a call and asked for 70 of our PVC Dominatrix shiny sexy hats!

As usually with these types of situations everything was done in the nick of time, so there was a bit of a stretching to deliver it on time – AP wanted to get 70 and we only had 10.
It’s all beautifully handmade and there was not enough time to get them all done in this time window.

Honestly, it’s a good feeling that at last the time has come for JL to put her 2 cents into the bdsm/fetish – vanilla mésalliance.
